Alessandro has over 30 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, the last twenty of which in Private Equity. Alessandro is the Founder and Co-Managing Partner of Praesidium.

Before that, he founded Perennius Capital Partners, Italy’s largest Private Equity fund-of-funds manager, and sold it to Partners Group in 2013, where he became Partner and Global Head of Energy.

Previously, Alessandro was Managing Partner & CEO of Poli e Associati, a leading Italian Corporate Finance firm. He began his career at JP Morgan in London, Paris, and New York, before joining Bain & Co. in London and Milan.

Alessandro served as Professor of Theory of Finance at Bocconi University in Milan, where he wrote a monograph (“Cost of Capital: Theory of Finance and Financial Markets”). He is also Member of the Academic Committee of Bocconi’s Quarterly Review “Company Valuation” and is an Italian Chartered Accountant.

He graduated in Economics from Bocconi University, Milan, and earned a Master specialization in International Corporate Finance from HEC Paris.
