Giampaolo is a serial entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in food technology, especially in research, development, production and marketing of innovative natural – clean label – functional ingredients for the food industry.

He is Founder and Chairman of Hi-Food, a Food-tech B2B company developing functional ingredients for the free-from and plant-based industries.

Giampaolo was previously Founder and CEO of Campus, a Food-tech B2B company developing functional ingredients for the meat industry which was sold to Firmenich in 2018.

Before this, he was Founder and CEO of Italiana Ingredienti, a Food-tech B2B company developing functional ingredients and later CEO Italy as well as Global Developer of functional ingredients for meat applications for Danish CHR Hansen, which acquired Italiana Ingredienti in 1999.

Giampaolo is an active investor in startups and SMEs, mainly in the food and neutraceuticals areas.
